How to prevent a clog
Clogged drains are a common problem in homes and can lead to water backing up and causing damage. Here are some tips to avoid having clogs.
1. Never flush napkins, baby wipes, or think paper, these products can expand inside the pipe and cause blockages. Instead dispose of these products in the trash or a bio-degradable bag.
2. Use strainers while in the shower to catch hair or small objects.
3. Never put any kind of fat or grease down the drain. The fats will solidify inside the pipes resulting in a clog. To properly dispose of fats, store them in a container until cool and throw it away in the garbage.
4. Try not to flush large amounts of toilet paper, if this is a common problem a high flush toilet might be something worth considering.
